📍Kerala-India

So guys...I would like to share you all about my recent overseas vacation where I visited Kerala, India during my semester 1 break.

Arriving Cochin :D

📍 Guruvayur Temple in Cochin

1st Day-
After reaching Cochin around 0130hrs in the morning we quickly snoozed off as we needed a proper rest to kick start our journey. We woke up around 7 in the morning and kicked start our day by having our breakfast: a parotha and a masala coffee

As soon as we finished breakfast we headed for our first destination which was the famous Guruvayur Temple which was a 1 and a half hour drive towards there. As soon as we reached there my dad and I changed to our vesthi and opened our shirts as the Kerala rules state that no male is allowed to wear pants and shirt to any temples :/

Our attire to visit the temples

Pre temple shoots

Guruvayur temple wasn’t a normal looking temples that we frequently see at Malaysia or Tamil Nadu, it was a different constructed temple following the Kerala culture from the Malayalam folks.
But one thing for sure is that the temple was stunning and the idols were sculpted with pure precision and feels.Moving on, after visiting the Guruvayur temple we headed for lunch and took Keralas famous Fish Biryani and went for shopping the whole day

2nd day-
On the next day, we left Cochin and headed straight to Munnar and Thekkady, a place just like Cameron Highlands in Kerala. The journey to reach these place took us nearly 5 hours. However, we did see some beautiful sceneries while on our way such as the Athirapalley waterfalls

Athirapalley falls

As soon as we reached our to Munnar, we bought tickets for ourself to watch the Kalari performance (Kerala martial arts) and Kathakali (Kerala famous theatre act). Personally I enjoyed the Kalari performance as they were much more exciting and a lot of flames and stunts were involved

(I couldn’t snap the performance as pictures were not allowed during the performance)

Afterwards, we went for dinner and went to our hotel and snoozed off early as we were extremely exhausted from travelling and sightseeing Munnar

3rd day-
On the third day, we headed to Thekkady which is lower than Munnar (lower altitude). It was a 2 hour drive to Thekkady. As soon as we reached Thekkady, we visited the tea plantation farm and also visisted the factory on how they create teas and supplying them world wide

The tea plantation was just breathtaking

A group picture is a must

We spent at Thekkady for only few hours as they were not much things to see there. Our next destination was to Alleypey for the famous boathouse stay and foods as they will catch the fish at the lake and cook for us as fresh as it could be 😋

4th day-
After the boathouse stay we visited the Allepey town before heading to Thiruvananthapuram which was our last destination before heading back to Malaysia 🇲🇾. We visited a saree making shop wherr they make their sarees as the ancient way which was something unique for me as I’ve never seen them making sarees before.
The machine they used to make sarees :0

I was surprised and also mesmerised by their patience and detail to make a perfect looking saree that needs a lot of passion and persistence. As soon as that, we had our lunch, we headed to Thiruvananthapuram and headed to one of India’s most famous temple: Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple
The Goburam (shrine) that boasts it’s gold with the sunset and also attracts the eye of any tourists

It was still majestic in the night

This temple has a lot of stories, the most famous is that the temple a lot of hidden passages and underneath tunnels proclaiming 6 doors with treasures of the last dynasty king before the Invasion of the British in India. Another majestic thing at the Temple was the main Lord Vishnu statue which was divided into 3 doors explaining the different aspects of life that we will go through. Unfortunately I
couldn’t snap a pic as phones were prohibited :( However I’ve found the picture through online :D

Purely sculpted by hand with pure Indian architecture

We learnt a lot of things while visiting the castle and saw how fancy and lavished the kings lived back then with such honour and respect from the whole kingdom.Next we payed a visit to a nearby mall and did some souvenirs shopping and had our lunch and headed back to our hotel room to pack up as our flight was 2300hrs (LMT)
The wait ✈️

We were eager to get back to Malaysia and feast our selfs with some nasi lemak 😋

We reached Changhi International Airport at 0645hrs and were extremely tired and hungry at the same time.We headed back home from Singapore to Kulai, Johor and had our Breakfast at Malaysia and ohh boy I really missed Malaysia (the road, the multiracial society, the local food, and of course Bahasa Rojak.
