Pyrophobia
AUSTRALIA FIRES
- June 2019 -
" I can't see, I can't breathe, Mom! Mom! Where are you?", cries the baby koala bear. Unable to find his mother amidst the fire and smoke, he hides himself within a tree, hoping somehow he will survive this cruel fate that has dawned upon the animals of the forest.
What started this? How can a peaceful habitat, the one that gives life to others, be destroyed so easily and and at a rapid rate, killing thousands of innocent animals. The ones that escape have nowhere to go, nowhere to hide. They end up on the streets, sometimes as roadkill. Only a fraction can be saved. Mass extinction slowly creeps in.

Man. The sole cause of this. No one else is to be blamed but man and his selfish activities. Man has taken advantage of Mother Nature since the beginning of the technological era and as more time passes by, the rate of destruction only increases further. Man does not care about others unless it affects his rate of success. Why? Because it affects his flow of money. Money, the god of man.

A little more than 25 million acres of land have been set ablaze and almost 2,000 homes have been destroyed. However fire season isn't over.

Man has to wake up and realise that the overexploitation has made Mother Nature angry. She cries for help by lashing out in the worst possible way; to make man understand that she is dying. Man has to give back to her, help her flourish again because if that doesn't happen, she will project her anger, no matter how advanced the machinery, man will not win. Everything will be gone in a blink of an eye.
