"LOVE"
LOVE
Love is more of a feeling that a person feels for another person. People often confuse love and lust. Love means to be deeply committed and connected to someone or something. The basic meaning of love is to feel more than liking towards someone. However so, love have been defined by other sources in different ways. Love defined by the Bible as to the latter, think of Paul's great hymn to love: "Love - agape - is patient and kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices the truth. According to Lord Krishna and Lord Ramachandra, love comes from heart and not from any physical or sexual relationship. Love is treating someone the way you want to be treated and not differentiating between any human being as at the end of all comparisons, comes one conclusion that we are all atma.
Despite all these definitions, love is often thought of as something that misguides the heart into letting go of it's principles or beliefs or even into doing something without rationality. With that, the question of whether love is necessary in one's life arises without a shadow of doubt and with that a new set of thoughts and feelings present themselves to lead the individual into a whirlpool of doubt and regret. I believe that the bigger question is why does love make us feel that way when all we ever wanted was to be happy and share every moment of our lives thereforth with someone very special and dear to us ?
Scientifically we could say that it's just our mind playing tricks on us to prevent feelings of hurt and depression but what the mind fails to understand is that the prevention of love causes something far worse that the heart can't comprehend.
Nevertheless, we often choose to overlook the flaws we possess and place the blame of the significant other. Maybe this makes the heart feel better about itself, and gives it hope that love can be found again and that it can feel whole again.
Sometimes, love makes us overlook the toxic traits of the ones we claim to have affection towards and sometimes it makes us imagine the toxic traits to make ourselves feel better, to make sure we prevent the pain that come afterwards. Sometimes, it's more of protection due to past experiences. Nonetheless, one should understand that every individual is different and with that comes a different set of traits and characteristics that although similar to the previous individual, are not the same.
With that, I'd like to say that love is a beautiful experience physically and mentally. Therefore, it shouldn't be categorised as something heinous or cruel. It all comes down to who you pick and no matter how much we tell ourselves it's destiny, it almost never is. It's always your personal choice.
" Love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, and penetrates walls to arrive to its destination full of hope. "
